🍞πŸ₯¦ Why You Can’t Focus Anymore - And the Simple Fix You Need

What's up Reader

This day and age really comes with a lot of blessings and curses. Especially as artists and business owners.

It's hard to reach for that book when your controller is sitting next to it, it's hard to build a business when Netflix is a finger tap away, it's difficult to meditate when a Library of porn is waiting for you.

I'm going to share some tips on how to best manage the ever attention grabbing world we're living in.

1.Avoid Dopamine Droves Before Your Tasks

If a man eats a whole sheet of cinnamon buns then eats a piece of broccoli, you can imagine his brain would probably be pretty disgusted by that broccoli, right?

Well, the same thing happens if you flood your brain with dopamine by scrolling through Instagram, or playing a game, or watching porn, then try to sit down and write a song.

That said, get all your work done before you pick up the phone, controller, or anything else that'll fry your brain.

2. Organize Tomorrow. Today

There's something magical about sitting down the night before.

Laying out your entire day.

And visualizing how it will go.

3. Task Blocking

I get my best ideas when I'm not actively thinking about a certain topic.

Task blocking is essentially setting aside time to create whatever you're creating, then setting aside time to do something completely unrelated.

Say you're writing a verse. You'll set 30 mins on a timer, and for 30 mins you can only write that verse. Nothing else.

Same goes if you're making beats.

Once the time is up, you'll set the timer for 5 mins.

During those 5 mins, you can go for a walk or whatever you want.

You'll find you get a FLOOD of ideas for these 5 minutes. And once your 5 minutes are up, you'll be able to attack your next task.

Depending on the average time you need to get into your "Flow State", you can set your timer to any amount of minutes you see fitting, for example 60 or 90, and then take a longer break.

Use these tips to increase your productivity.
